Nautikidz Ltd

Nautikidz began in Northern Brittany in 2009. Enjoying a family holiday, my children came back from the beach, desperate to tell me about some miniature ships which they could drive on a giant boating lake. Breathless with excitement, they dragged me down to the water. After few Euros spent and 15 minutes afloat, one of those classic family holiday moments was developing before my eyes.

Which got me wondering - why weren’t these Mini Ports available in the UK? So many children (and adults!) were having fun in these little boats.

With a lifetime of boating and outdoor adventure behind me, I set up Nautikidz Ltd in 2010 to bring the Mini Port concept to the UK. After experimenting at Poole Park during the summer of 2010, we opened our own Miniport at Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth in May 2011.

For 2012 we opened our second Miniport in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard in mid-May.

Our ships are manufactured locally to our own design, and we are still expanding into new sites.

Between 2000 and 2002, I was the Chief Power Boat Instructor at the Royal Yachting Association and was National Sailing Coach there between 2000 and 2007. I’ve worked in the outdoor education industry all my life, both in the UK and overseas. I am a founding director of Spirit Euxin, the first residential outdoor centre in Romania, which was set up in 2000.

I am married with two children, and am still involved in the delivery of indoor and outdoor training and consultancy across the outdoor and corporate training world.

Encouraging outdoor adventure in safe environments is really important to us. If you have any questions about Nautikidz and our Mini Ports, I’d love to hear from you.
